Pre-Engineering & Machine Tool Technology

The Pre-Engineering program offers students the opportunity to experience a wide range of topics in engineering, thus preparing the students for a two or four year college plan. The courses of this program, created by PLTW: Project Lead the Way, are designed with integrated subjects of math, science, English, engineering, and technology. Students learn the basics of measurements; 3D modeling; digital electronics; mechanics; software including, but not limited to Autodesk Inventor and Revit, RoboPro, and Multisim; educational requirements; licensing; and organizational skills that will be required for entry into this evolving field. This course is open to juniors and seniors.

Instructor Scott McDaniel

Mr. McDaniel worked as a Mechanical Engineer for twelve years before transitioning to teaching.

His goal is to make his program feel as much like an engineering manufacturing environment as possible, while still trying to design a work environment that is conducive for learning.
